About KAIST HUBO Series

KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) HUBO series began 2004 and includes multiple generations advancing bipedal humanoid capabilities. HUBO won DARPA Robotics Challenge 2015 by completing disaster response tasks including driving vehicles, opening doors, cutting walls, and climbing stairs. Various HUBO versions explore different locomotion approaches including wheeled-legs hybrid. The series demonstrates South Korea's significant investment in humanoid research and produced some of the world's most capable disaster response robots. HUBO platforms continue evolving with latest versions incorporating AI and improved manipulation.
